Privacy Policy for Pluralis
Pluralis (“Pluralis,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a front-tracking app for plural systems. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Pluralis mobile application and any related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By using Pluralis, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. No Account Required
Pluralis does not require you to create an account or sign up in order to use the app.
We do not collect your email address, password, or other registration information as part of normal app use.
2. Information You Create in the App
Pluralis allows you to create and store information in the app, which may include:
- front-tracking entries
- switch logs
- notes
- journal content
- tags
- timestamps
- other information you choose to enter
This information is stored locally on your device unless you choose to use an optional integration, export feature, or user-directed iCloud upload feature.
3. Optional Third-Party Integrations and Services
Pluralis may offer optional integration with third-party services such as PluralKit, and may also allow you to upload encrypted JSON exports to Apple iCloud at your direction.
If you choose to enable an integration or use an optional upload feature, Pluralis may access, display, import, export, sync, upload, or otherwise process the information necessary to provide that feature. This may include system-related metadata, member-related data, switch-related data, notes, timestamps, and other data you choose to include.
You control whether to enable these features. If you do not enable them, Pluralis does not access data from those services and does not upload your app data to iCloud.
Third-party integrations and storage services are governed by the privacy policies and terms of the relevant third-party provider.
4. How Information Is Used
Information handled by Pluralis is used only to:
- provide and operate the app
- save and display your entries and notes
- support optional integrations and user-directed upload features you choose to enable
- create, export, or upload encrypted JSON files at your direction
- improve app performance, stability, accessibility, and usability
- diagnose and fix technical issues
- comply with legal obligations where required
5. Data Storage
Data entered into Pluralis is stored locally on your device by default.
Pluralis does not automatically back up your app data to the cloud.
Pluralis may allow you to create and upload an encrypted JSON file to iCloud at your direction. Any such upload is initiated by you and is not performed automatically.
If you use optional integrations, export features, or iCloud upload features, information you choose to send through those features may be transmitted to the relevant third-party service or destination at your direction.
6. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share your app content with advertisers or data brokers.
We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- at your direction, such as when you enable an optional integration, export data, or upload encrypted JSON to iCloud;
- with service providers, if necessary to operate the app;
- for legal reasons, if required to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request;
- to protect rights and safety, if necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of users, Pluralis, or others; or
- as part of a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
7. Data Retention
Because Pluralis stores data locally on your device by default, your app content generally remains on your device until you edit, delete, or remove it.
If you remove the app from your device, locally stored data may also be deleted, depending on how your device and operating system handle app removal.
If you choose to send information through an optional third-party integration or upload encrypted JSON to iCloud, retention of that information by the third party is governed by that third party’s policies and your account settings with that provider.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to help protect information handled by the app from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you use the iCloud upload feature, Pluralis may generate an encrypted JSON file before upload based on the app’s implemented security design and the options you choose to use.
9. Children’s Privacy
Pluralis is not directed to children under the age of 13, or the minimum age required by applicable law in my jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of any applicable laws.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy. Continued use of Pluralis after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
